Kingston Man Sentenced to Prison for Downloading Child Pornography

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, announced that a Kingston, Pennsylvania resident was sentenced to 66 months in prison today by Senior U.S. District Court Judge James M. Munley for receiving child pornography.

According to United States Attorney Peter J. Smith, Randall Hayes, age 25, previously admitted to downloading images of child pornography on his computer during a one-month time period in February-March 2010.

Hayes was charged in a criminal information on November 16, 2010, as a result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Kingston Police Department.

Judge Munley also ordered that Hayes serve 15 years of supervised release following his prison sentence. Hayes must also pay a $2,000 fine and a $100 special assessment.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.
