Serial Bank Robber Strikes Again in Philadelphia

FBI Philadelphia November 18, 2010

The FBI, the Philadelphia Police Department, and various law enforcement agencies in New Jersey are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate a subject who is believed to be responsible for at least nine robberies and attempted robberies in Philadelphia and New Jersey since September 21, 2010. The most recent robbery occurred today at approximately 1:18 p.m. at the Republic Bank branch located at 833 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia. The subject presented a threatening demand note to a teller and, after obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, was last seen fleeing on foot headed southbound on 9th Street from Chestnut.

All of the robberies have involved the subject either presenting threatening demand notes or making threatening verbal demands to tellers in the banks. There have been no physical injuries associated with any of these robberies. The subject is believed to be responsible for the following bank robberies:

  1. TD Bank, 1506 Berlin Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ, on September 21, 2010
  2. Beneficial Bank (attempted robbery), 157 S. White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ, on September 30, 2010
  3. TD Bank, 180 N. Blackhorse Pike, Bellmawr, NJ, on September 30, 2010
  4. Sun National Bank, 1402 Brace Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ,, on October 4, 2010
  5. Sun National Bank, 10 E. Evesham Rd., Glendora, NJ, on October 12, 2010
  6. TD Bank, 180 N. Blackhorse Pike, Bellmawr, NJ, on October 24, 2010
  7. 3rd Federal Savings, 4635 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA, on November 5, 2010
  8. Republic Bank, 833 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA, on November 11, 2010

 

The subject, who is considered armed and dangerous, is described as a black male in mid 20’s, 5’6” to 5’7” tall, medium build, with a mustache and goatee. Investigators believe that the subject may be living, or may have recently been living, somewhere in South Jersey.

Anyone with information about this subject or any of these robberies is asked to call the FBI’s Bank Robbery Task Force at 215-418-4000. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture, and tipsters can remain anonymous.
