Five Men Charged with Armed Pharmacy Robberies, Distributing Stolen Narcotics

Emmanuel Duran, a/k/a “Manny,” a/k/a “Manny Yunk;” Raheem Brown, a/k/a “Heem;” John Bowie, a/k/a “Heads;” Joshua Hines; and Kevin Staten, a/k/a “Donnell Staten,” a/k/a “Nell,” were charged today in a 28-count indictment with six armed robberies of pharmacies in Philadelphia, the distribution of the narcotics stolen from the pharmacy robberies, and the possession of firearms during the period of February 8, 2010, through June 9, 2010, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. The pharmacies robbed are as follows:

2/8/10 M.D. Pharmacy, 1641 N. Franklin Street, Philadelphia
2/23/10 M.D. Pharmacy, 1641 N. Franklin Street, Philadelphia
4/21/10 Pharmacy of America, 1500 E. Erie, Philadelphia
4/29/10 Ellis Pharmacy, 2441 Brown Street, Philadelphia
5/7/10 Germantown Pharmacy, 5100 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia
5/25/10 Henneberry Pharmacy, 828 N. 24th Street, Philadelphia

If convicted, each of the defendants face maximum possible sentences of life imprisonment.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Philadelphia Police Department and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Arlene Fisk.
