Armed Robbery of a Wachovia Bank Branch in Haverford

FBI Philadelphia August 27, 2010

The FBI and the Lower Merion Township Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the armed robbery of the Wachovia Bank branch located at 402 West Lancaster Avenue, Haverford, PA, earlier today.

At approximately 2:11 p.m., the subject entered the bank, brandished a handgun, and demanded money. After obtaining and undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the bank and was last seen heading south across a field on the north side of Haverford College.

The subject is described as a black male in his mid to late 30’s, 6’3” or 6’4” tall, wearing large sunglasses, a dark dress suit with a light blue dress shirt and print tie, a dark knit ski cap, light colored gloves, and a white painters mask with a blue strap. The subject was armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lower Merion Township Police Department at 610-649-1000 or the FBI at 215-418-4000.

This subject is considered armed and dangerous. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture, and tipsters can remain anonymous.
