Armed Robbery of Sovereign Bank Branch in Pottstown

The FBI and the Pottstown Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the armed robbery of the Sovereign Bank located at 258 High Street in Pottstown, Pennsylvania earlier today.

At approximately 1:17 p.m., the subject entered the bank with a silver semi-automatic pistol in his hand, announced that it was a robbery, and demanded cash from a teller. The robbery forced a customer down to the ground. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the area of the bank in an unknown direction.

The subject is described as a black male, 6’2” tall, wearing a gray “Air Jordan” hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, a BMX-style mask, dark sweat or athletic pants, white sneakers, and white gloves.

This subject is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Pottstown Police Department. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture, and tipsters can remain anonymous.
