Two Charged in Jewelry Store Robbery

United States Attorney Michael L. Levy today announced the filing of an indictment1 charging that Raynard Powell and Nathaniel Williams committed a gunpoint robbery of Govberg Jewelers on June 4, 2009. During the course of the robbery, over $216,000 in jewelry was taken.

If convicted the defendants face a maximum possible sentence of lifetime imprisonment, including a mandatory minimum term of seven years’ imprisonment, a five-year period of supervised release, a $750,000 fine, and a $300 special assessment.
The case was investigated by the FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony J. Wzorek.
