Dennis C. Pfannenschmidt, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, announced that a 32-year-old Scranton resident was sentenced today by U.S. District Court Judge A. Richard Caputo to serve 10 years in federal prison for trafficking crack cocaine in Scranton during 2005.
Pfannenschmidt stated that Pierre Cidone, also known as “Pski,” previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute more than five grams of crack cocaine.
Cidone was indicted by a federal grand jury on February 14, 2006, as a result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Scranton Police.
Judge Caputo also ordered Cidone to be placed on four years of supervised release following his prison sentence and to pay a special assessment of $100. Cidone, who is a Haitian national, may also be subject to deportation following his prison sentence.
Pfannenschmidt noted that the case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis P. Sempa.
