Bank Robber Identified and Charged with Two Bank Robberies

The FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department are seeking the public's assistance to locate Michael P. Bellini. A warrant was issued in United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania earlier this afternoon charging Bellini was the robberies of the Citibank branch located at 1211 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, on December 31, 2009, and January 6, 2010.

Michael P. Bellini, 28 years of age, is 5’7” tall, 200 pounds, with a bald or shaved head, and a tattoo on his right bicep of the word “Joey.” While he has no known fixed address, he is known to frequent motels in the Norristown and Pottstown areas.

Bellini is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000, the Philadelphia Police Department, or their local police department. Citizens should not approach or attempt to apprehend Bellini themselves, but should notify law enforcement. There may be a reward for information leading to his apprehension, and tipsters can remain anonymous.

The identification of Bellini, leading to the federal charges, was a result of citizen tips following media coverage of the two bank robberies.
