Media Event: Presentation of FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award to Jerome Chaney

FBI Philadelphia November 16, 2009

Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Janice K. Fedarcyk of the Philadelphia Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is pleased to announce that Nu-Juice Foundation founder and Chief Operating Officer Jerome Chaney will be presented with the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award on Thursday, November 19, 2009.

Since 1990, the FBI has publicly recognized and honored the achievements of individuals and organizations for their continued efforts in combating crime, terrorism, drugs and violence in America with the Community Leadership Award. Each year, one individual or organization in each of the FBI’s 56 field offices is selected whose achievements in the terrorism, crime, drug, gang, and/or violence prevention and education field have had exemplary impact on the community.

The Nu-Juice Foundation is a Philadelphia based non-profit organization that works with low-income and disadvantaged community youth between the ages of 6 and 18 and their families. Nu-Juice engages youth in positive educational and recreational activities that help lead to successful careers, and focuses on installing the civic values that empower young people to achieve and succeed. The Foundation also works closely with private companies, corporations, municipalities, school districts, foundations, and community based organizations to foster and encourage the process of reinvesting and participating in the prosperity of youth and families by providing financial, educational, and career opportunities.

A press conference regarding this matter will be held at the FBI office, 600 Arch Street, 8th Floor, on Thursday, November 19, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. SAC Fedarcyk will present the award to Mr. Chaney, and will address the media. Audio and video recording will be permitted.
