Robbery of the Citizen’s Bank in Aldan on Friday

FBI Philadelphia August 31, 2009

The FBI and the Aldan, Pennsylvania Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject alleged to be responsible for the robbery of the Citizen’s Bank branch located at 543 North Oak Avenue in Aldan, Pennsylvania this past Friday.

On August 28, 2009, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the unknown subject entered the area of the bank, which is located inside of a grocery store, and presented a threatening demand note to a teller. The subject is described as a white male, late 20’s to early or mid 30’s, 5’8” tall, medium build, with scruffy/thin facial hair, wearing sunglasses a tan or khaki baseball cap, a yellow raincoat with a hood, black lining, and black patches on the elbows, dark cargo-style pants and boots. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the area in an unknown direction in a bright yellow subcompact car.

The subject is believed to have been inside another area bank shortly before this robbery. A picture from the other bank and a picture from the Citizen’s Bank are below.

This subject is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI’s Newtown Square office at 610-353-4500, the FBI’s Philadelphia office at 215-418-4000, or the Aldan Police Department at 610-626-3553. Tipsters can remain anonymous, and there may be a reward for information that helps identify and locate this subject.
