Three Charged in Armed Bank Robberies

United States Attorney Laurie Magid, and Janice K. Fedarcyk, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, announced today the filing of a 20-count Indictment charging defendants John Agot Canlas, Rasheid Malic Robinson, and Marquis Jamal Wicker with conspiracy to commit bank robbery and armed bank robbery, bank robbery, armed bank robbery, carrying and using a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and aiding and abetting. These charges arise out of the defendants’ participation in seventeen bank robberies from July 24, 2008, through October 22, 2008, including three armed robberies in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the District of New Jersey, and the District of Delaware.
The defendants face a total maximum sentence of lifetime imprisonment, a mandatory minimum term of 32 years’ imprisonment, five years supervised release, and at least a $2,750,000 fine.
This case has been investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and various state and local law enforcement agencies throughout the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the District of New Jersey, and the District of Delaware. The case has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Salvatore L. Astolfi.
