  • Middle District of Pennsylvania (717) 221-4482

Martin C. Carlson, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, announced that a Monroe County man was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Court Judge A. Richard Caputo to serve four years in prison for distributing heroin and crack cocaine during June 2007.

Carlson stated that Byron Moore, age 33, of Albrightsville, pleaded guilty on September 15, 2008, to distribution and possession with intent to distribute heroin and crack cocaine.

Moore’s prosecution resulted from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Pocono Mountain Regional Police.

Judge Caputo also ordered Moore to serve three years of supervised release after serving his prison sentence, and to pay a special assessment of $100.

Carlson noted that the case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis P. Sempa.
