10/21/09

Top Ten Banner, Most Wanted

Joe Luis Saenz

Eduardo Ravelo

Semion Mogilevich

Joe Saenz , Eduardo Ravelo , and Semion Mogilevich are the most recent additions to the Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, which was depleted earlier this year with the captures of three Top Tenners.

Semion Mogilevich, a Ukrainian businessman, is charged in 40 economic crimes carried out in dozens of countries around the world, including bilking investors in a Philadelphia company out of $150 million. He is the newest addition to our Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, and we are offering up to $100,000 for information leading directly to his arrest.

Our Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list has seen a lot of action lately, with the capture of three “Top Tenners” since July. On Monday we added Joe Luis Saenz to the list. And yesterday we added Mexican gang leader Eduardo Ravelo. The three new additions this week bring the 59-year-old list back to Ten.

Three New Top Tenners
Since its creation in 1950, the Top Ten list has been invaluable to the Bureau, helping us capture some of the nation’s most dangerous criminals. Of the 493 fugitives named to the list, 463 have been apprehended or located.

That level of success wouldn’t be possible without the strong support of the public, which has helped capture 152 of the Top Ten fugitives.

Over the years, we have created several tools to help spread the word about our fugitives program, the newest of which is a “widget” that can be added to anyone’s website or blog. The widget (shown at right) is an interactive application featuring information on all Top Ten fugitives, along with continuous feeds for FBI news and stories that are automatically updated. It’s easy to add to almost any website, including Facebook and other social media networking sites, and it currently appears on more than a thousand sites around the world.

We also count on the media for help in publicizing the Top Ten list. For that reason, announcement of the three new additions to the list has been coordinated with national media.

Remember that we need your help. If you have any information about Saenz, Ravelo, Mogilevich, or any of the fugitives on our Top Ten list, please contact your local FBI office or submit a tip electronically on our website.

For a full list of the fugitives and missing persons we’re looking for, please visit our Wanted by the FBI webpage.
