Kim Wolfe Named the Recipient of the 2013 FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award

Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Thomas R. Metz announced that Kim Wolfe is the recipient of the 2013 FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award. Each FBI field office selects one individual or organization for the award, and each award recipient is initially publicly recognized in their region. Mr. Wolfe will attend a formal ceremony on April 4, 2014, in Washington, D.C., where he, along with recipients from across the country, will be presented the award by FBI Director James B. Comey.

Mr. Wolfe will be presented the award on Monday, November 25, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. by Special Agent in Charge Thomas Metz, with Governor Dave Heineman and others in attendance. The presentation will take place at the Governor’s Office, Room 2316, State Capitol, 1445 K Street in Lincoln. Members of the press and media are invited to attend.

Governor Dave Heineman said, “Kim Wolfe is an outstanding Nebraska community leader. He works diligently to help the citizens of our state, ranging from our children to our elderly, because he cares about the continued betterment of our society. Congratulations to Kim, Jill, and their family on their continual generous and caring efforts to support their neighbors and community.”

Mr. Wolfe, a community leader and volunteer, was selected by the Omaha Division of the FBI for his many accomplishments. Over the years, Mr. Wolfe has developed a strong reputation as a key community leader in the state of Nebraska. His volunteer activities primarily focus on children and the elderly. Mr. Wolfe implemented a Home for the Holidays program utilizing the services of Midwest Medical Transport Company, Nebraska’s largest privately owned ambulance service. The program provides free ambulance transports statewide on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, uniting families that may otherwise not have the means to pay for a medical transport of their loved ones.

An avid Nebraska Husker fan, Mr. Wolfe acquired a Husker Helicopter as part of his fleet and donates his time and costs associated with flying patients and charity auction winners in his well-known helicopter for tours across Nebraska. Mr. Wolfe has donated his time to a wide variety of non-profit organizations to include private fundraiser initiatives for terminal children, as well as JDRF Foundation, Make A Wish foundation, American Heart Association, the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association, and local fire departments and hospitals.

Since 1990, the FBI has publicly recognized individuals and organizations who have exhibited exemplary leadership within the local community and whose leadership has assisted the FBI and local law enforcement personnel in making safer communities with the distinction of the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award. “The Director’s Community Leadership Award is the FBI’s way of expressing our thanks to Kim Wolfe publicly,” said SAC Thomas Metz.
