Federal Law Enforcement Officials Seek Information Regarding Two Federal Fugitives

Federal law enforcement officials are seeking information regarding the location of two persons who have been indicted with federal firearms offenses.

The public’s assistance is being sought in the apprehension of Democrus Pernell Burston, age 37, last known to live in Cedar Rapids. A federal warrant has been issued for his arrest based upon an indictment unsealed on June 15, 2012 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa. The indictment charges Bruston with one count of being a felon and unlawful drug user in possession of a firearm. The case file number is CR 12-42.

The public’s assistance is also being sought in the apprehension of Joshua David Clarke, age 21, last known to live in Cedar Rapids. A federal warrant has been issued for his arrest based upon an indictment unsealed on June 15, 2012 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa. The indictment charges Clarke with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and one count of possession of a stolen firearm. The case file number is CR 12-43.

As with any criminal case, a charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
