Federal Search Warrant Executed in Newton, Iowa

DES MOINES, IA—The United States Attorney’s Office has received several inquiries concerning an event that happened in Newton, Iowa, on April 5, 2011. The United States Attorney’s Office is able to confirm that a federal search warrant was executed yesterday at a business office located at 321 East 3rd Street North, Newton, Iowa, and that the search involved the following agencies: Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General, Office of Investigations (HHS-OIG); Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA); Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI); Jasper County Sheriff Department; Newton Police Department; and the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement (MINE) Task Force-East.

The United States Attorney’s Office is, however, unable to provide any further comment at this time.
