Lincoln Man Sentenced for Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine

United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg announced that Hubert Thomas Wooten, also known as Tommy Wooten, 47, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was sentenced on August 1, 2011, to 87 months in prison by United States Senior District Judge Warren K. Urbom, for his involvement in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. In addition to his prison term, Wooten will serve five years of supervised release following his release from prison.

Information provided to law enforcement indicated that Wooten was involved in the distribution of at least 1.5 kilograms (approximately three pounds) but less than five kilograms (11 pounds) of a mixture containing methamphetamine in the Lincoln area between January of 2007 and October of 2010. Wooten pled guilty to the conspiracy charge in May of 2011.

This case was investigated by the Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force (Lincoln Police Department, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department, and University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police Department); the Drug Enforcement Administration, (DEA); and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, (FBI).
