FBI Seeks the Public’s Assistance in Locating an Iowa Bank Robber Who Struck Twice Today

Weysan Dun, Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Omaha Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), announced today that the FBI is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a bank robber that is believed to have robbed two banks today; the first bank in Ottumwa, Iowa, and the second in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Based on the modus operandi and his clothing description, law enforcement believes the suspect is the same in both robberies. The first robbery occurred at 9:43 a.m. at the Community First Credit Union, 235 Richmond Ave, Ottumwa, Iowa, and the second bank robbery was at 1:55 p.m., Wayland State Bank, 301 S. Main, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

The subject is described as a white male, mid 20’s, 5’6” tall, small build, wearing a brown suit, short-sleeve white shirt, brown striped tie, and a white ball cap with orange Yagermeister logo on it. He presented a demand note, indicated he had a gun, and fled the scene.
