Macy Resident Sentenced for Sexually Abusing Minor

United States Attorney Deborah Gilg and the Federal Bureau of Investigations announce the following information for the attention of the media:

Event Triggering this Release: Dudley L. Blackbird, age 20 of Macy, was sentenced for sexual abuse of a minor. The Honorable Lyle E. Strom, United States Senior District Court Judge, sentenced Blackbird to 18 months imprisonment. After his release from prison Blackbird will begin a five-year term of supervised release.

Blackbird was 18 years old when he engaged in sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old juvenile on the Omaha Indian Reservation. The 13-year-old ran away from home and remained with Blackbird over the course of four days. When the juvenile was discovered, she was administered a sexual assault kit. DNA from Blackbird was found on a swab taken from the juvenile.
