Police Department announce the following information for the attention of the media:
Event Triggering this Release:
On May 8, 2009, a criminal complaint was filed against Danny Reaves, age 34 of Omaha.
Reaves is charged with the May 1, 2009, robbery of a Rochester Armored car near 7414 North
30th Street in Omaha. Reaves is been charged with Interference with Commerce by Threats and
Violence. The charge is punishable by up to 20 years imprisonment, a fine not to exceed
$250,000.00 or both. The complaint alleges that approximately $31,000 of United States
currency was taken during the robbery. During the course of the robbery, one of the armored
car’s guards was shot. REAVES was arrested yesterday by members of the Omaha Police
Department’s Fugitive Task Force. A criminal complaint is preliminary to a grand jury
indictment. Both a complaint and indictment are charging documents and not determinations of
guilt. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
