Clifford Shafer Sentenced 100 Months for Distribution of Methamphetamine and Possession of Firearm

United States Attorney Joe W. Stecher and the Federal Bureau of Investigation announce the following information for the attention of the media:

Event Triggering this Release: The Honorable Richard G. Kopf, United States District Judge in Lincoln, Nebraska, on March 18, 2009, sentenced Clifford Shafer to 100 months’ imprisonment following his conviction for distribution of methamphetamine and two counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. On May 7, 2008 and May 8, 2008, Shafer sold firearms to an informant who was working with the police. On May 8, 2008, Shafer also sold the informant methamphetamine. Shafer was indicted in September of 2008. Shafer plead guilty on December 30, 2008, and he was sentenced on March 18, 2008.
