Robbery of Southwest Federal Credit Union in Lawton

James E. Finch, Special Agent in Charge of the Oklahoma City Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, announced the robbery of the Southwest Federal Credit Union at 6714 West Gore Blvd. in Lawton, Oklahoma.

At approximately 3:45 p.m. this afternoon, an unknown male entered the credit union wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark ski mask, and dark or mirrored sunglasses. The subject approached the teller counter where he threatened two tellers with a 40 caliber semi-automatic pistol and demanded money. The subject held open a white Walmart shopping bag with both hands, while still holding the gun in his right hand. After collecting money from both tellers, the subject’s gun discharged, sending a round through the bag of money. Neither teller was hit. The subject left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

The subject departed the bank from the west exit and is believed to have fled in an unknown direction of travel on foot.

Surveillance photos and witness descriptions depict the subject as follows:

  • Male
  • Race unknown
  • Possibly young in age
  • 5’6”to 5’7” tall
  • 150 to 175 pounds
  • Wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, dark ski mask, dark gloves, and dark or mirrored sunglasses
  • The subject was carrying a 40 caliber semi-automatic pistol
