Arrest of Bank of the West Bank Robber

Special Agent in Charge James E. Finch of the Oklahoma City Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Oklahoma City Police Department (OCPD) Chief of Police Bill Citty announce the arrest of Rodney Allen Carroll, 52 years of age, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for the robbery of the Bank of the West branch at 1600 Southwest 89th Street in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on November 6, 2014.

At approximately 11:46 a.m. on November 6, a white male approximately 50 years of age, with gray hair and wearing a Denver Broncos jacket, entered the Bank of the West located at 1600 Southwest 89th Street in Oklahoma City. The male approached a teller, threatened the teller, and demanded money. The robber left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. OCPD officers observed an individual matching the description of the aforementioned bank robber in the area of the Walmart department store located at 501 Southwest 19th Street in Moore, Oklahoma. This individual, later identified as Rodney Allen Carroll, was contacted and arrested by officers of the Oklahoma City Police Department and special agents of the FBI at approximately 12:18 p.m.

Carroll is expected to face federal bank robbery charges for today’s bank robbery. The FBI would like to thank the Oklahoma City Police Department for their assistance in this investigation resulting in today’s arrest.

The public is reminded an arrest is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
