Bank of the West Branch in Oklahoma City Robbed

OKLAHOMA CITY—Special Agent in Charge James E. Finch of the Oklahoma City Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), announced the robbery of the Bank of the West, 1600 S.W. 89th Street in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

At approximately 3:50 p.m. this afternoon (July 16, 2013), a male entered the bank and approached the teller counter. The subject gave the teller a note demanding money. The subject told the teller he was armed and that he was not alone, although no weapon was observed. The teller complied and placed an undisclosed amount of money in a bank envelope. The subject then departed the bank with the money and was last seen running across the street to the north. Surveillance photos from the bank show what is believed to be the same subject in the bank yesterday afternoon (July 15, 2013) at approximately 2:45 p.m.

The subject is described as a white male (dark complexion), late 40s, 5’8” tall, medium build, red-tinted hair, dark sunglasses with silver frames, wearing a light blue or gray long sleeved dress shirt and dark pants. No one was injured in today’s robbery.

This robbery is being investigated by the FBI and the Oklahoma City Police Department. Anyone with information is requested to call the Oklahoma City FBI Office at (405)290-7770 (24-hour number).
