OKLAHOMA CITY—Today, BRENT ALLEN ELISENS, 24, of Norman, was sentenced by United States District Judge Robin Cauthron to serve 30 months in federal prison for using a telephone to communicate a bomb threat, announced Sanford C. Coats, United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma.

According to investigative reports, Elisens called the Norman Police Department on September 14, 2010, at approximately 9:30 a.m., identified himself, and indicated that he was going to “throw a grenade in the precinct.” As a result of the threat, extensive measures were taken to protect the Norman Police Department, the Cleveland County Courthouse, and Oklahoma Court Services. Elisens was indicted by a federal grand jury on October 20, 2010. He pled guilty on November 23, 2010.

In addition, Judge Cauthron ordered Elisens to serve three years of supervised release after his release from prison.

This case is the result of an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Norman Police Department, and the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office. This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Andre’ Caldwell.
