Woodward Woman Sentenced to 10 Years in Federal Prison for Possessing Child Pornography

U.S. Attorney’s Office February 10, 2011
  • Western District of Oklahoma (405) 553-8700

OKLAHOMA CITY—Earlier this week, Alicia Danielle Freerksen, 21, from Woodward, Oklahoma, was sentenced by United States District Judge David L. Russell to serve 120 months in federal prison for possession of child pornography, announced Sanford C. Coats, United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma.

In May of 2010, Alicia Freerksen was charged along with her husband, DEAN LEROY FREERKSEN III, 28, also from Woodward. On August 17, 2010, Dean Freerksen was found guilty by a federal jury of producing child pornography. Evidence at trial showed that the Freerksens used a digital camera to take multiple photographs of themselves engaging in sexually explicit conduct with an 11-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl. The abuse occurred at the Freerksen’s Woodward home in the summer of 2009. The abuse came to light when one of the child victims reported it to her mother, who reported it to law enforcement. Prior to the trial, Alicia Freerksen pled guilty to possession of child pornography related to the same events and testified at trial for the government.

Judge Russell also ordered that Alicia Freerksen serve five years of supervised release upon being released from prison, and she will be required to register as a sex offender. Sentencing for Dean Freerksen has been set for March 2, 2011.

These charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Randy Sengel and Brandon Hale.
