City Man Sentenced to 77 Months in Federal Prison for Robbing Bank

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—Today, JIMMY L. STARKS, 30, of Oklahoma City, was sentenced by United States District Judge Robin Cauthron to serve 77 months in federal prison for robbing the Bank of America, at 3501 N. MacArthur, in Oklahoma City, with a knife on May 23, 2009, announced Robert J. Troester, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma.  In addition, Judge Cauthron ordered Starks to serve five years of supervised release upon his release from prison and pay $5,443 in restitution.

Starks pled guilty in July of this year to robbing the bank.  As part of a plea agreement, Starks agreed to pay restitution for his robbery of the Bank of America on May 23, 2009, and the Bank of Oklahoma, located at 4129 SE 29th Street, Del City, Oklahoma, on May 20, 2009. 

The case is the result of an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Warr Acres Police Department, Del City Police Department, Oklahoma City Police Department, and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.  The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Andre’ B. Caldwell and Chris M. Stephens.
