California Resident Arrested for Traveling Interstate to Engage in Sex with Minor

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—James E. Finch, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Oklahoma, announced the arrest of Troy Anthony Howard, 41, of Visalia, California. 

Approximately two months ago, the FBI received a tip regarding an individual who was allegedly using an Internet chat room with the intention of engaging in sex with an underage female and her mother.

Last night at approximately 9:00 p.m., Troy Anthony Howard, a truck driver, was arrested without incident by the FBI at a truck stop located near I-40 and Martin Luther King in Oklahoma City.       

Howard faces Federal charges of interstate travel for the purpose of engaging in sex with a minor, a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2423(b).

The investigation is being conducted by the FBI.  The case is being prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office, Western District of Oklahoma.
