Stroud Man to Serve Two Years in Prison and Pay Nearly $90,000 for Embezzlement from Otoe-Missouri Tribe

Oklahoma City, OK—Yesterday, BRANDON ERIC LYNAM, 32, of Stroud, Oklahoma, was sentenced by United States District Judge Tim Leonard to serve 24 months in federal prison, followed by two years of supervised release, for embezzlement of tribal funds belonging to the Otoe-Missouri Tribe, announced John C. Richter, United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma. In addition, Lynam was ordered to pay $89,262.07 in restitution.
Lynam was employed by the Otoe-Missouri Travel Plaza #2 located in Red Rock, Oklahoma, who from February through September of 2007 embezzled tribal funds collected from the sale of items at the Travel Plaza and falsified deposit slips to cover-up the embezzlement. Lynam was indicted in September of 2008 and pled guilty in December of 2008.
This case is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jim Robinson.
