Gatsby Bandit Sought in Series of New York City Bank Robberies

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New York City Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in locating an armed bank robbery suspect last seen on May 16, 2014, robbing the Astoria Federal Savings Bank at 72-35 Broadway in Queens.

The Gatsby Bandit is described as a white male, approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall and approximately 45 to 50 years old. The Gatsby Bandit has gray hair, blue eyes, and a skinny build. He was last seen wearing black-framed glasses, a tan Gatsby hat, a black coat, and blue pants.

The Gatsby Bandit is also considered a suspect in two other robberies listed below, and evidence suggests he may have displayed a black handgun during the May 7, 2014 robbery.
