FBI Asks for Public’s Assistance in Second Armed Bank Robbery This Week

FBI New York December 03, 2010

On Friday, December 3rd, at approximately 1:45p.m., the Capital One bank located at 35 Westchester Square in the Bronx was robbed as the subject brandished the handle of a gun to the teller, pulling it from an unmarked plastic bag. This is the second time in two months that this particular branch has been robbed.

The New York FBI is currently looking for a white or Hispanic male, approximately 5’6’’ in height, a slim build, late 30s to early 40s, with a pock-marked face, and long black curly hair coming out from under his hat. The individual was described as wearing a knit cap, brown sunglasses, black puffy jacket, gloves, and black pants. The subject fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Bank Robbery Suspect

“Anyone with information about this individual is asked to call the FBI immediately at 212-384-5000 or their local police” said Special Agent Richard Kolko. “There is a cash reward for information leading to this individual’s arrest and I remind the public that tipsters may remain anonymous.”

The robbery is being investigated by the Joint Bank Robbery Task Force, which is comprised of FBI agents and NYPD detectives. Operating since 1979, it is the longest continually operating task force in the New York Office and investigates major violent crime.
