FBI New York Wanted Fugitive Joseph Lubrano Arrested

FBI New York September 12, 2010

Joseph Lubrano was arrested by the FBI without incident in Yonkers, New York around 6:00 p.m. on September 11, 2010. Lubrano was wanted for his alleged involvement in armed robbery and racketeering and was indicted in the Eastern District of New York in May 2010. He has been a fugitive since that time.

His arrest was aided by increased public awareness, particularly his billboard wanted poster that appeared in Times Square. He is scheduled to be arraigned in federal court on Monday morning in New York’s Eastern District.

“The public’s assistance and increased media exposure play an integral role in capturing and tracking down wanted fugitives. We have seen this time and time again and Big Joe is no exception,” said Special Agent Richard Kolko. “The community plays a vital role in keeping their neighborhoods safe. Federal fugitives are highlighted on the www.fbi.gov website. If you know where a fugitive is, pick up the phone and call the FBI or local police. The calls can always be anonymous. We look forward to more partnerships with the media, like Clear Channel, to help increase awareness and track down wanted criminals.”
