Wanted By the FBI: The Loan Ranger Bandit
Mollie Halpern: The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for the identification, arrest, and conviction of an armed bank robber known as the Loan Ranger Bandit.
I’m Mollie Halpern, and this is Wanted by the FBI. The unidentified man allegedly robbed at least 12 banks and other financial institutions in Texas, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Mississippi. The financial institutions tend to be secluded from other businesses. Special Agent Russell Di Lisi says the bandit has become bolder since his first robbery back in 2009.
Russell Di Lisi: He started by handing a note, and it said, "20s 50s, 100s." And more recently, we’ve seen him brandish the weapon.
Halpern: The bandit has been caught on camera dressed in everything from a suit and fedora to casual clothes and a baseball hat, but…
Di Lisi: This guy does not attempt to disguise his face, and in each robbery you have a pretty clear view of him.
Halpern: Clear enough to see the bandit’s mole or mark above his right eye on his lower forehead.
Di Lisi: We are going to find him, and we do need help from the public at this point. If you recognize him, please contact your local FBI office.
Halpern: Tips can remain anonymous. For more information visit www.fbi.gov.
