Please help us locate the person pictured here—Warren Steed Jeffs, the newest member of our Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to his arrest.

Please see his wanted poster for all the details, but here’s a snapshot:

Who he is: Jeffs is the leader and self-proclaimed prophet of a polygamous sect called the Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints, or FLDS, which separated itself from mainstream Mormonism in 1890 after polygamy was banned. FLDS, which has an estimated 10,000 followers, has communities in Hilldale, Utah, and Colorado City, Arizona.

  • Why he’s wanted: Jeffs has been charged in Arizona with two counts of sexual conduct with a minor, one count of conspiracy to commit sexual conduct with a minor, and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Jeffs was also charged with rape as an accomplice in Utah.
  • Where he may be hiding: Jeffs has not been seen in public since around 2004, but he has ties to Utah, Arizona, Texas, Colorado, South Dakota, British Columbia, and Quintana Roo, Mexico .
  • Previous occupations: Private school teacher and accountant.
  • Distinguishing physical features: Brown hair and eyes, 6’3” to 6’4”.
