Washington, D.C. June 05, 2002
  • FBI National Press Office (202) 324-3691

The FBI will host the Junior Special Agent graduation ceremony on June 6, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. This special event will take place in the courtyard of the J. Edgar Hoover FBI Building, 935 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C.

This is the FBI’s ninth annual Junior Special Agents graduation ceremony. Last year’s graduation was a tremendous success and a memorable occasion, due to the efforts of many FBI employees.

Approximately 280 students will participate in this ceremony. In holding the graduation ceremony at FBI Headquarters, it will give the Junior Special Agents an event that they will never forget, in addition to inspiring more FBI employees to get involved in this worthwhile program.

Our Junior Special Agent Program offers incentives for students to improve their attendance, academic achievement, and behavior through examples of role models emphasizing an anti-drug and anti-violence message. FBI volunteers help students to understand, appreciate, and develop a positive perspective of the FBI and law enforcement in general. The program consists of a variety of classroom activities, physical fitness, presentations by guest speakers, field trips, and mentoring/tutoring programs for students needing additional guidance in routine academic areas throughout the school year.

Director Robert S. Mueller, III will conduct the official swearing-in ceremony.
