Brian Joseph Chavez, a member of the Pueblo of Cochiti, was sentenced to a 25-year term of imprisonment for his second-degree murder conviction. Full Story
- Headquarters: National Center for Disaster Fraud to Coordinate Hurricane Irene Fraud Complaints
The FBI and the National Center for Disaster Fraud established a telephone hotline, (866) 720-5721, to report suspected fraud associated with relief efforts associated with Hurricane Irene. The number is for the purpose of reporting suspected scams being perpetrated by criminals in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene and is staffed by a live operator 24 hours a day, seven days a week. - Boston: Brookline Man Pleads Guilty to Foreign Economic Espionage
Elliot Doxer pled guilty to foreign economic espionage. This is the first prosecution in Massachusetts for foreign economic espionage and only the eighth in the nation. Doxer provided information over an 18-month period to an undercover federal agent posing as an Israeli intelligence officer. Full Story

Baretta Bork and Xavier Bork were sentenced for orchestrating a $4 million mortgage fraud scheme that defrauded 24 area lenders. Full Story

A reward of up to $10,000 was announced for information leading to whereabouts of the disappearance of Anthony Zizzo. He was 71 years old when he disappeared and was last seen by his wife as he left their home on the morning of August 31, 2006. Full Story
- New Orleans: Former City Contractor Sentenced to More Than 17 Years in Prison
