  1. Boston: Two Previously Charged Men Indicted for Obstruction of Justice in Boston Marathon Bombing Investigation

    Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov allegedly removed several items from bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s dormitory room and disposed of some of them after the FBI posted photographs of the two men suspected of carrying out the Boston Marathon bombings. Full Story

  2. Miami: Two Individuals Charged with Material Support Offenses Involving al Qaeda, al Qaeda in Iraq/al Nusrah Front and al Shabaab

    Gufran Ahmed Kauser Mohammed, a naturalized U.S. citizen and resident of Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and Mohamed Hussein Said, a Kenyan national and resident of Nairobi and Mombasa, were charged with conspiring and attempting to provide money and recruits to three separately designated foreign terrorist organizations.   3. Baltimore: Three Members of Matusiewicz Family Indicted for Cyberstalking and Interstate Stalking Crimes Resulting in Courthouse Murders

    David T. Matusiewicz, his mother, and his sister were charged with stalking his ex-wife, Christine Belford. Belford was murdered by David Matusiewicz's father, who committed suicide soon after gunning her down in a courthouse. Full Story

  4. Los Angeles: Second Member of Hacking Group Sentenced for Stealing Customer Information from Sony Pictures Computers

    Raynaldo Rivera, a member of the LulzSec hacking group known by the online moniker “neuron,” was ordered to serve a year in prison for participating in the extensive computer attack that resulted in personal information of more than 138,000 people being posted on the Internet. Full Story

  5. Newark: Members of Aryan Terror Brigade White Supremacist Group Sentenced to Prison for Hate Crime Assault

    Michal Gunar and Kyle Powell received 33 months and 15 months in prison, respectively, for their roles in the New Year’s Eve 2011 hate crime assault of two Middle Eastern men in Sayreville, New Jersey. Full Story

  6. Cincinnati: Ohio Man Pleads Guilty to Sex Trafficking

    Thuron L. Hammersley met women on the website plentyoffish.com, placed “escort” ads for them on backpage.com, and directed men who responded to the ads to motels in Kentucky and Ohio, where the women engaged in sexual activity for money. Full Story

  7. Chicago: Two Men Accused of Violating U.S. Sanctions by Providing Services to Zimbabwean Officials, Including President Mugabe

    Federal charges were unsealed against Prince Asiel Ben Israel and C. Gregory Turner for allegedly agreeing to assist Zimbabwean government officials in an effort to lift economic sanctions against them in exchange for $3.4 million. Full Story

  8. Cleveland: Vermilion Man Sentenced for Defrauding Nearly 100 Clients of Millions

    Richard A. Zakarian received more than 17 years in prison for operating two schemes—one to defraud investment clients and another to defraud clients whose payroll taxes he handled through a company known as Ben Franklin Payroll Service. Full Story

  9. San Juan: Three Indictments Charge 139 Individuals with Drug Trafficking in Puerto Rico

    Those indicted were charged with trafficking drugs such as crack, heroin, cocaine, marijuana, Percocet, and Xanax in three public housing projects in Caguas, Puerto Rico. Full Story

  10. Cincinnati: Babysitter Sentenced for Producing Sexually Explicit Videos of Children

    Kevin Dwayne Todd received 25 years in prison for producing sexually explicit videos of prepubescent children he babysat and offering online to trade the videos. Full Story
