Lynne A. Hunt Announced as Assistant Director of Inspection Division

FBI Director Robert S. Mueller, III, today announced the appointment of Lynne A. Hunt to assistant director, Inspection Division.

Mrs. Hunt entered on duty with the Bureau in 1978 and has served in the Chicago, Washington, Phoenix, and Baltimore Field Divisions. While serving at FBI Headquarters, Mrs. Hunt was assigned to the Legal Counsel Division and then supervised white-collar crime matters. In 1989, she was transferred to the Washington Metropolitan Field Office where she supervised white collar crime investigations, then in 1991, she was transferred to the Phoenix Division, where she also supervised white-collar crime investigations. In 1995, Mrs. Hunt was designated chief of the Health Care Fraud Unit, where she supervised the FBI's Health Care Fraud investigative program. In 1996, Mrs. Hunt was designated assistant special agent in charge of the Baltimore Division, where she served until being designated chief of the Financial Crimes Section. Most recently, Mrs. Hunt served as special agent in charge of the Baltimore Division.

The FBI's Inspection Division performs a mission-critical role, that is, to ensure compliance and facilitate the improvement of performance by providing independent, evaluate oversight of all FBI investigative and administrative operations.
