FBI Director Mueller Announces SAC Appointments

Washington, DC – FBI Director Robert S. Mueller, III announced today four selections to the position of Special Agent in Charge.

Weysan Dun, Special Agent in Charge, Springfield Division: Mr. Dun entered on duty with the Bureau in 1982 and has served in the Chicago, New Haven, Omaha, and San Francisco field offices. During his career, Mr. Dun has developed expertise in National Security, High Technology Theft, and Terrorism matters. In his current assignment as an Inspector, Inspection Division, FBI Headquarters, Washington, D.C., Mr. Dun has displayed extensive organizational and analytical skills.

Charles D. Elder, Special Agent in Charge, Louisville Division: Mr. Elder entered on duty with the Bureau in 1982 and has served in the Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Sacramento, and San Francisco field offices. During his career, Mr. Elder has distinguished himself in the FBI’s White Collar Crime Program with an emphasis on Economic Crimes, Health Care Fraud, Computer Crimes and Public Corruption. Most recently, Mr. Elder has served as Section Chief for the Operational Support Section, Criminal Investigative Division, FBI Headquarters, Washington, D.C., where his extensive experience was an invaluable asset.

Robert James Jordan, Special Agent in Charge, Portland Division: Mr. Jordan entered on duty with the Bureau in 1980 and has served in the Boston, Newark, and San Diego field offices. During his career, Mr. Jordan has been involved in a number of successful high profile Public Corruption investigations, culminating in his appointment to head the FBI’s national Public Corruption Program. Currently, Mr. Jordan serves as the Assistant Director of the Office of Professional Responsibility, FBI Headquarters, Washington, D.C., where he has re-engineered the office, and greatly streamlined the disciplinary process within the FBI.

Carl Whitehead, Special Agent in Charge, Tampa Division: Mr. Whitehead entered on duty with the Bureau in 1982 and has served in the Detroit, Los Angeles, New Orleans and San Antonio field offices. During his career, Mr. Whitehead has directed several significant drug, public corruption and violent crimes investigations. Most recently, as an Inspector, Inspection Division, FBI Headquarters, Washington, D.C., Mr. Whitehead has significantly contributed to ensuring the operational and administrative efficiency of the FBI.
