Appointment of Tina W. Jonas as the FBI's Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Director, Finance Division

FBI Director Robert S. Mueller, III, today announced the appointment of Tina W. Jonas as the FBI's Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Director, Finance Division.

Ms. Jonas served as a Budget Examiner for the Office of Management and Budget, Executive Office of the President, National Security Division, Intelligence Branch from 1991 to 1995. Her duties included the formulation of the President's Budget. In 1995, Ms. Jonas worked as a Professional Staff Member, U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations, Defense Subcommittee. In this capacity Ms. Jonas was responsible for the review and analysis of the President's Budget for the Department of Defense.

Most recently, Ms. Jonas has served as the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Financial Management), Department of Defense where she was responsible to Under Secretary of Defense/Comptroller for management and supervision of Office of the Secretary of Defense Deputy, Chief Financial Officer staff. In this position, Ms. Jonas managed an accounting staff of about sixty and maintained oversight of a 17,000 person Defense Finance and Accounting Service organization.

Ms. Jonas holds a Bachelor of Arts from Arizona State University, and a Master of Arts from Georgetown University.
