01/12/2012Mollie Halpern: The FBI needs your help tracking down a New Jersey man who allegedly targeted the elderly in a credit card fraud scheme.
I’m Mollie Halpern of the Bureau, and this is Wanted by the FBI.
Luis Colon, Jr. posed as a representative of utility companies and promised his victims lower rates if they created automatic debit accounts. Special Agent Bryan Travers…
Bryan Travers: This was just a pretence to gain knowledge of their credit card and debit counter numbers which he would turn around and use illegally.
Halpern: Colon would use the cards to buy large quantities of pesticides over the Internet or phone from companies in Georgia, Texas, and elsewhere.
Travers: The pesticides would be shipped to addresses in New Jersey and Philadelphia and sold for cash.
Halpern: Colon is in his late 20s, weighs 180 pounds, and is six feet tall. He has tattoos of stars on his neck, Jesus on his chest, a cross on his back, and an image of a mugging on an arm.
Travers: He is known to carry a gun; he has had some violence in his history, which concerns us.
Halpern: If you have information on Colon’s whereabouts, contact your local FBI office.
