Wounded Warrior Program

Mollie Halpern: On this Memorial Day weekend, the FBI pays tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of this country.

I’m Mollie Halpern of the Bureau, and this is FBI, This Week.

The connection between the Bureau and our armed forces is a strong one. Through the Wounded Warrior Internship Program, the FBI provides career development opportunities to active members of the armed services who are undergoing medical treatments. Senior Supervisory Resident Agent Scott Gicking was instrumental in bringing Marines to the San Diego Field Office.

Scott Gicking: It’s amazing to me how similar agents of the FBI are to Marines. They go out there and serve our country. The people of the FBI do the same thing.

Halpern: Corporal Kionte Storey was serving in Afghanistan when he lost part of his leg to an improvised explosive device. The Marine participated in the wounded warrior program and is now proud to be an FBI operational support technician.

Kionte Storey: It’s a smooth transition going from the military to the FBI. I like what I do—I enjoy it.

Halpern: For more information, visit www.fbi.gov
