Mr. Schiff: The FBI’s Junior Special Agents mentoring program began in 1990. At the Gila River Indian Community near Phoenix, Arizona, teacher and administrator John Timmons in the Sacaton School District has been working with the FBI for 10 years.

Mr. Timmons: “In the last 10 years, we’ve had approximately 150 students graduate from the class.”

Mr. Schiff: Timmons says FBI personnel visit the school and mentor the students.

Mr. Timmons: “Abstaining from crime, drug and alcohol abuse, involvement in gangs…”

Mr. Schiff: One of this year’s graduates is 10-year-old Jackie Coronado, who really liked learning about FBI operations.

Ms. Coronado: “Fingerprinting and polygraphing.”

Mr. Schiff: Eleven-year-old Amanda Antone wants to help people.

Ms. Antone: “I’d like to be the governor of Arizona.”
