Hate Crime Statistics, 2010

11/18/2011

Mollie Halpern: The number of hate crime incidents in America during 2010 shows no significant change when compared to the previous year. The data is based on the FBI’s latest Hate Crime Statistics report.

I’m Mollie Halpern of the Bureau and this is “FBI, This Week”.

Halpern: The enactment of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crime Prevention Act will increase the type of data the FBI collects. The landmark legislation adds…

Scarbro: …gender, gender identity crimes, and hate crimes by and against juveniles.

Halpern: For detailed results of the report, visit FBI.gov. That’s what’s happening at the FBI, This Week.
