Mollie Halpern: A former member of a violent militant movement is the latest addition to the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists List.

Michael Rinaldi: Joanne Chesimard was a highly placed, prominent member of the Black Liberation Army (BLA).

Halpern: I’m Mollie Halpern, and this is FBI, This Week. Joanne Chesimard continues to preach her extremist anti-U.S. government ideology. Chesimard’s addition to the list comes on the 40th anniversary of the murder of New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster. The trooper and his partner stopped Chesimard and two other BLA members for a motor vehicle violation. Lt. Michael Rinaldi of the FBI’s Newark Joint Terrorism Task Force…

Rinaldi: A gun battle ensued, during which Trooper Foerster was murdered execution-style and his partner was critically injured.

Halpern: Chesimard was convicted of murder but escaped from prison in 1979. She is believed to be in Cuba using the alias Assata Shakur.

Chesimard is the 46th terrorist added to the list since its inception in 2001. Unit Chief Susan McKee…

Susan McKee: She is the first female placed on this list and only the second domestic terrorist.

Halpern: Report tips at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
