Jerome Pender: What we’re doing is we’re adding new forms of biometrics

Pender: We’re very concerned with protecting privacy of the American public, and there’s no intent at all to go out and take pictures of people in public places and try and do facial recognition on them.
Halpern: Upgraded fingerprint identity technology has already been put into use…
Jerome Pender: In the first five days of operations, we made 910 additional identifications that the old system would have missed that the new system picked up
