Mollie Halpern: The 16-year manhunt for an FBI “Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitive” is over. A tip led FBI agents to the arrests of mobster James “Whitey” Bulger and his girlfriend, Catherine Greig. Special Agent Damon Katz of the FBI’s Boston Field Office….

Damon Katz: This is a tangible demonstration about the FBI’s resolve. No matter how long it takes, we’re going to find the fugitives that we look for.

Halpern: I’m Mollie Halpern of the Bureau and you’re listening to “FBI, This Week”. Agents cuffed the couple just days after the Bureau launched a publicity campaign which included a 30-second public service announcement. Surveillance was conducted, then a ruse was used to lure Bulger out of his Santa Monica apartment. Bulger initially denied his identity but eventually gave himself up. Agents arrested Greig inside the apartment where evidence was found. Special Agent Scott Garriola was there…

Scott Garriola: …long guns, hand guns semi-automatic weapons. We found a large sum of cash hidden in the walls.

Halpern: For the latest information on this case, visit fbi.gov.
