Chicago Fugitive Arrested in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS—Special Agent in Charge (SAC) David W. Welker, FBI New Orleans, in conjunction with SAC Robert D. Grant, FBI Chicago, announce the arrest earlier today of Lerahn Causey, age 28, of Chicago, Illinois, on a federal fugitive warrant. Causey was charged in Cook County, Illinois with stalking and intimidation. Investigation by Chicago Police determined Causey had fled the state.

An unlawful flight to avoid prosecution federal warrant was obtained by Chicago FBI on May 11, 2011 as his whereabouts pointed toward the New Orleans area.

Causey was arrested without incident by members of the FBI New Orleans Violent Crime Task Force in the 5400 block of North Rampart Street in New Orleans.

Causey awaits extradition proceedings back to Chicago.

The public is reminded that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
