U.S. Attorney’s Office October 21, 2009
  • Eastern District of Louisiana (504) 680-3000

SHANQUELL WILSON, age 25, a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, was sentenced in federal court yesterday by U.S. District Court Judge Sarah S. Vance to eight (8) months’ probation for bank larceny, announced U.S. Attorney Jim Letten.

According to court documents, from approximately June, 2007 until approximately November 17, 2008, while holding the position of head teller at the Bank of New Orleans, WILSON stole more than $20,000 from customer accounts without authorization. The investigation started when a customer reported money missing from her account and reported it to bank officials, who then performed an audit and called the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The case was investigated by the Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney Jon Maestri.
