NEW ORLEANS, LA—BRADFORD WADE, age (21), a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Martin L.C. Feldman to fifteen (15) years imprisonment for distributing a deadly dose of heroin that killed Pierce Sharai, announced U.S Attorney Jim Letten. In addition to the term of imprisonment, Judge Feldman imposed three (3) years of supervised release following the term of imprisonment. During the three-year term the defendant will be under federal supervision and risks an additional term of imprisonment should he violate any terms of his supervised release.

On June 18, 2009, BRADFORD WADE admitted that he participated in a conspiracy to distribute heroin and that on January 19, 2008, he and his co-defendant, Shannon Frank distributed $100.00 worth of heroin to a person who later shared the heroin with Pierce Sharia, who died of a heroin overdose. The co-defendant, Shannon Frank was sentenced on September 17, 2009, to serve 144 months in prison for his role in this offense.

After sentencing, BRADFORD WADE was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal’s Service to begin his term of imprisonment.

This case was investigated by Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigations. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Jay Quinlan and Maurice Landrieu.
